CEP01- Hemp Continuous Extraction Processor
Hemp Extraction is a rough process, mix in -40 F chillers, Steam evaporation, and a few hundred gallons of highly flammable ethanol, and you really have a party. I was called to this machine to help get it from an idea to a production ready machine. The code was unclear, the HMI was confusing and the order of operations not clearly defined. But in two months time we re-wrote the entire program to make it flexible and easily understandable. We created a modular architecture that makes for easy modifications, and an intuitive HMI for easy status at a glance, and powerful controls, for each user level. This prevents operators from changing the setpoints and using manual override to bypass the auto mode, for maintenance.

This automation process involves six different modules continuously interacting with each other to create one cohesive product. Each module contains it's own code and set of requirements.
We were called in to this process to help make these machines run to their best potential. While at the facility we were able to enhance the HMI system to better user interaction, increase the part per minute production, and increase the overall safety and functionality.
